UFC scales are no longer dominated by the men, as the likes of Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche are now pushing for the sport to start being recognised more globally in the women’s category.
But on Friday, for the first time-ever, UFC saw women standing on the scales to weigh in for a bout at the Honda Center.
Bantamweight champion Rousey (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) weigh-in at 134.6, while Carmouche (8-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) was at 133.6.
Also fighting on the main card are Dan Henderson vs. Lyoto Machida, Josh Koscheck vs. Robbie Lawler, with these two coming off the scale even at 171.
Notably, Nah-Shon Burrell came off the scale significantly overweight for his fight with Yuri Villefort. Burrell (175.8) will apparently give 20 percent of his purse to his opponent Yuri Villefort (170). “The fight will be at a catch weight of 175.8 pounds.”
