Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to make 10 changes to his side for this game with only Emre Can retaining his place in the team from the one started at Sunderland in the English Premier League last Monday.
Among the starters today for the Reds is defender Joe Gomez, who makes his first Liverpool appearance since October 2015.
Gomez, who is back after a year on the sideline because of injury, will play alongside Trent Alex-Arnold, Lucas and Alberto Moreno in the backline.
Meanwhile, Ben Woodburn is handed his full senior debut and will play in the Liverpool attack beside Sheyi Ojo and Divock Origi.
Ovie Ejaria and Kevin Stewart will feature alongside Can in midfield with Loris Karius returning to the starting lineup to take his place in goal.
According to Opta Stats, Liverpool have never lost an FA Cup outing against a team from the fourth tier, but Reds boss Klopp isn’t taking anything for granted.
Klopp revealed that he will not minimize lower-ranked Plymouth and named a strong bench for this FA Cup third-round clash with Daniel Sturridge, Nathaniel Clyne, Georginio Wijnaldum, Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana among the substitutes for the home side.
Meanwhile, there is just one change for Plymouth with Gary Miller coming in for Craig Tanner from the team that played in the defeat at Barnet.
Liverpool: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Lucas, Moreno, Stewart, Can, Ejaria, Ojo, Woodburn, Origi. Subs: Mignolet, Klavan, Clyne, Wijnaldum, Sturridge, Firmino, Lallana.
Plymouth: McCormick, Miller, Songo’o, Bradley, Purrington, Threlkeld, Fox, Carey, Jervis, Garita, Slew. Subs: Bulvitis, Smith, Goodwillie, Osborne, Rooney, Dorel, Tanner.
