The German boss noted though, that this is not necessarily the team he will be fielding against Ghana in their Group G opener, but rather to give himself and his coaching staff another look at some of the players in the final warmup game before heading to Brazil.

DaMarcus Beasley has been drafted in the backline to play alongside Geoff Cameron, Fabian Johnson and Matt Besler, but there was no starting runout for Omar Gonzalez, who starts on the bench.

Alejandro Bedoya and Kyle Beckerman also start this evening with Jozy Altidore being the lone forward and Clint Dempsey expected to be his main partner in the attack.

Julian Green, Chris Wondolowski, Graham Zusi and Brad Davis are among the substitutes.

For Nigeria, English Premier League players Peter Odemwingie, John John Mikel, Victor Moses and Shola Ameobi, as well as the experienced Joseph Yobo all mark the starting lineup.

The Super Eagles are drawn in Group F alongside Argentina, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
