No. 13 Oklahoma vs No. 21 Oklahoma State: Coach expects another “rivalry game”

NORMAN, Okla. (Sporting Alert) — Anytime Oklahoma State and state rivals Oklahoma clashes, especially in college football, there are always looks of excitement.

On Saturday the Oklahoma Sooners play hosts to the Cowboys here at Owen Field in Norman for the Bedlam Game and game that can be seen live on ESPN and, and WatchESPN depending on your location.

“It’s been a rivalry game,” OU head coach Bob Stoops. “It didn’t start last year.

“It has been for a good number of years.”

These guys have been keeping something in the reserves for this special moment and the Sooners, especially after the hammer they got last season, can’t wait to take the field again.

“There’s still a sour taste in our mouth, the way we went down there and just laid an egg last year,” senior defensive end David King said on the OU official website at

“A lot of guys on this defense were a part of that, and we’re going to use that game last year as a motivator.”

The Cowboys are apparently being inspired by the NCAA title winning performance by the Cross Country team and come into bursting with confidence.

This can be dangerous for the Sooners, with Stoops particularly worrying about their offense.

“They’ve got excellent skill,” Stoops said of the OSU offense. “They’re excellent at running the football.

“Then they do a great job of play-action and throwing the football. We need to get some things improved and change some things up to hopefully defend the run first better to start with.”
