MIAMI, FL, Sporting Alert – Alabama, Michigan, Clemson, Washington, Louisville and Ohio State held steady in the top half of the AP College Football Top 25 Rankings, released in Week 11 on Sunday (6).
As expected, the Crimson Tide continue to lead the pack after beating SEC rival and then-No. 15 LSU 10-0 on Saturday night to improve to 9-0 on the season.
Nick Saban’s men collected 60 of the 61 first-place votes for 1,524 points.
Next up for Alabama is a date against Mississippi State this coming weekend.
Meanwhile, Michigan (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) stayed at No. 2 and collected the only other vote for first place for 1,432 points, following a 59-3 victory over Maryland on Saturday.
Clemson remained at No. 3, with Washington and Louisville rounding out the top five teams in the rankings.
Ohio State is at No. 6, with Wisconsin up one spot to No. 7, Auburn is up three spots to No. 8, Oklahoma is back in the top 10, at No. 9, while Texas A&M fell three places to No. 10 after being upset by Mississippi State at the weekend.
West Virginia, Penn State, Utah, Western Michigan and North Carolina are No. 11 through No. 15, with the Nittany Lions being the biggest movers this week with eight places up.
Nebraska, at No. 12, Florida, at No. 22 and the 25th-ranked Baylor all slipped 12 places this week after suffering defeats.
There were no new teams in the AP College Football Top 25 rankings this week.
POWER FIVE TEAMS SEASON DONE
Saturday’s results saw some eight Power 5 teams dropping out of bowl eligibility already.
Leading the way is Michigan State, which made the college football playoffs last year, but is only 2-7 and 0-6 Big Ten play this season.
