LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Here are the English FA Cup results and scores from the 3rd Round matches that took place on Saturday January 4.
Among the big winners on the day were English Premier League side Arsenal and Everton, who both impressed in their respective fixture.
Everton thumped Championship side QPR 4-0, while EPL leaders Arsenal defeated Tottenham 2-0 in the last kick-off on the day to book their place into the fourth round.
Cardiff City new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opened his campaign on a winning note after leading his team to a come from behind 2-1 victory over Newcastle United, while Hull City eased past Middlesbrough on the road as well.
Elsewhere, EPL side Aston Villa was dump from the tournament after going down 2-1 at home against Sheffield United, fellow EPL outfits Southampton survived a strong test from Championship team Burnley with a 4-3 win, while Rochdale surprised Leeds United 2-0, Stoke City edged Leicester City 2-1 and West Bromwich Albion went down 2-0 to Crystal Palace.
Manchester City were held 1-1 by Blackburn and must now wait on a replay date.
