TULSA, Okla., Sporting Alert – So we completely forgot to hit the publish button on this one, but it’s never too late to post this, seeing that all things will remain the same for at least another weekend.

Just in case you were waiting on us to publish this on our website, here is the latest release of the AP college football rankings top 25, which was sent out on Sunday, Nov. 22.

As expected, Clemson stayed No. 1 in the rankings after beating Wake Forest 33-13 on Saturday to receive 55 of the 61 first place votes from the media panel and 1518 points.

The Tigers remain perfect on the season after improving to 11-0.

Improving one slot this week to No. 2 is Alabama after they received the other six first place votes and 1469 points.

The Crimson Tide (10-1) who have been very impressive since losing to Ole Miss earlier this season, were a comfortable 56-6 winner over Charleston Southern at the weekend.

Iowa (11-0) the other undefeated team left this season, is up three places to No. 3 with 1325 points, following the 40-20 win over Purdue.

Notre Dame (10-1) and Oklahoma (10-1) completed the AP college football rankings top 25 top five.

Michigan State (10-1) after beating Ohio State 17-14, improved to No. 6, Baylor (9-1) moved up to No. 7, but defending champions Buckeyes (10-1) slipped six places to No. 8.

Oklahoma State (10-1) down five spots after losing to Baylor and Florida (10-1) rounded out the top 10.

North Carolina (10-1), Michigan (9-2), Stanford (9-2), Florida State (9-2) and TCU (9-2) are 11-15, with Navy (9-1) sitting at No. 16 after putting away Tulsa 44-21.

LSU 17, Utah 18, Wisconsin 21 and USC 22 who are all in poor form at the moment, dropped from the AP college football rankings top 25 this week.

The Tigers (7-3) have dropped three straight and have fallen from being genuine college football playoff contenders to being dumped from the AP rankings altogether, something that could cost Les Miles his job.

There have been several murmurs in the media about the status of Miles, with several outlets and pundits suggesting that the veteran coach should be fired when the season is over.
