NEW YORK, Sporting Alert – Alabama stayed No. 1 in the latest AP Top 25 College Football Rankings, which was released for Week 6 on Sunday.

The Crimson Tide (5-0) thrashed Kentucky 34-6 at home on Saturday to collect their fifth consecutive win this season, as the push to win another College Football Playoff title remains on track.

Alabama received 53 of the 61 first-place votes this week in the AP Top 25 Rankings for 1,514 points.

Sitting well at No. 2 is Ohio State (4-0), following its comprehensive 58-0 shutout victory over Rutgers on the weekend.

The Buckeyes picked up six of the first-place votes and 1,451 total points this week for their efforts, as they continue to improve on the season.

Clemson moved two places up to No. 3 this week, after finally securing a meaningful win against last week’s third-ranked Louisville on Saturday night.

The Tigers (5-0) held off the Cardinals for a 42-36 victory at home, and they were even considered as a possible No. 1 ranked team, after receiving a first-place vote.

Michigan (5-0) stayed at No. 4 this week with 1,334 points after topping Wisconsin 14-7 on Saturday.

Completing the top five is Washington (5-0), as they moved five places up after hammering last week’s seventh-ranked team Stanford, 44-6 on Friday night.

Houston stayed No. 6, Louisville slipped four places to No. 7, Texas A&M is up one spot to No. 8, Tennessee, following the thrilling late 34-31 win over then-No. 25 Georgia, moves up to No. 9, while Miami is up four slots to No. 10.

Wisconsin, Nebraska, Baylor, Ole Miss and Stanford rounded out the top 15.

Meanwhile, five teams joined the AP Top 25 College Football Rankings this week, with North Carolina, which beat Florida State, Oklahoma, returning to the poll this week, Colorado, West Virginia and Virginia Tech – coming in at 17, 20, 21, 22 and 25, respectively.

Michigan State (17), San Diego State (19), TCU (21), Texas (22) and Georgia (25), were the teams that dropped from rankings this week.
