MIAMI, FL (December 18) —— The following are the AP Top 25 men’s basketball scores on Saturday, December 17. There were interesting results on the day that could potentially shack up the next rankings as two of the top four teams suffered defeats on a very weekend of college basketball play.

No. 1 Purdue, No. 3 UConn, and No. 5 Houston were the top five teams winning on Saturday, while No. 2 Virginia was handed its first defeat of the season after losing to No. 5 Houston, and No. 4 Alabama was cooled off by No. 15 Gonzaga in what was one of the games of the day.

No. 1 Purdue stayed perfect on the season with a hard-fought 69-61 win over Davidson to improve to 11-0 this term, while No. 3 UConn won its 12th game in succession this season after defeating Butler 68-46. No. 9 Arizona (10-1) handed No. 6 Tennessee a 75-70 loss and No. 8 Kansas (10-1) routed No. 14 Indiana 84-62.

In a thrilling contest at Madison Square Garden in New York, No. 23 Ohio State (7-3) surrendered a double-digit lead and lost to North Carolina 89-84 in overtime. This was a proper college basketball game at the Garden and the fans love every bit of it.
