New summer recruits Mathieu Debuchy, Calum Chambers and Alexis Sanchez could all feature for Arsenal, as manager Arsene Wenger seek to keep most of the players who started in the convincing 3-0 win over Manchester City in the FA Community Shield last Sunday.
Laurent Koscielny and Calum Chambers started at the center-back position for the Gunners against Manchester City and Wenger could still with the pair for the Premier League opener.
“Koscielny had a knock on his Achilles but he should be available for Saturday,” Wenger revealed.
The manager also said midfielder Abou Diaby is back in training after picking up an injury during preseason. He is not expected to feature though.
“He’s back in full training – that’s good news,” Wenger said. “He needs to play a few games but this week he looked good in training.”
Crystal Palace head into the season opener manager-less, following the shocking departure of Tony Pulis. This means that caretaker boss Keith Millen will be in charge of the game as the search for a new manager begins.
Saturday’s EPL opener could see Martin Kelly, Brede Hangeland and Fraizer Campbell all making an appearance for the Eagles.
