(Sporting Alert) — Arsene Wenger made three changes to his Arsenal side for the Barclays Premier League game today against Aston Villa at Villa Park.
The game also attacker Gervinho making a return to the bench after being out because of an ankle injury.
But the three changes made by Wenger to his Arsenal side are defenders Carl Jenkinson and Kieran Gibbs and midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who all come in as replacements for captain Thomas Vermaelen, Bacary Sagna and Jack Wilshere, who start this game on the bench.
With Vermaelen dropped to the bench, midfielder Mikel Arteta will captain the side.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also starts, also does the in-form Olivier Giroud, who continues up front.
Paul Lambert’s Aston Villa team have slipped into the drop zone and confidence at the moment is not on a high. Darren Bent continues to be out so Gabriel Agbonlahor and Christian Benteke start.
