LONDON (Sporting Alert) — There was no place for Olivier Giroud in Arsenal starting XI, but defender Laurent Koscielny keeps his place in the side for tonight’s Champions League clash at home to Olympiakos.
Olivier Giroud started for Arsenal at Montpellier on Matchday One, but has been left on the bench tonight as the Gunners look to bounce back from the 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in Premier League over the weekend.
Midfielder Mikel Arteta, who was doubtful for the game because of an ankle problem, has passed a fitness test and will start in midfield, while Francis Coquelin also starts in the middle, but Theo Walcott is again on the bench.
Arsenal will certainly miss France midfielder Abou Diaby, who is out of the contest and action for three weeks after he sustained a thigh strain in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.
