EARLIER REPORT

BRADFORD (Sporting Alert) — Bradford City have taken the lead against Arsenal FC in their Capital One Cup quarter final clash at Coral Windows Stadium.

Despite seeing less of the ball, the home side took the lead when Garry Thompson volleyed home from close range to send the pack stands to a roar in the 16th minute.

A delivery played into the box was headed on by Will Atkinson, whose ball dropped for a well placed and an unmarked Thompson to blast home past Wojciech Szczesny.

Arsenal are still bossing the game, especially in midfield, but the final deliveries in the last third have been disappointing.

Arsene Wenger named a very strong team as he wants to win this game.

He came thinking it would have been an easy ride to the semi-finals, but the Frenchman must now find a way to rally his team back from a goal down.
