LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Mikel Arteta missed a last second penalty and Arsenal had were forced to take a 3-3 draw with Fulham in a very exciting Barclays Premier League game at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The Gunners went 2-0 up inside the first 23-minutes when Olivier Giroud headed home in the 11th minute before Lukas Podolski double the score 12 minutes later.
However, Former Manchester United and Tottenham forward Dimitar Berbatov pulled a goal back for Fulham from a corner kick in the 29th minute and then Alex Kacaniklic made it 2-2 five minutes before the half-time whistle.
Berbatov then put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot after Bryan Ruiz was fouled by Arteta.
That lead didn’t last long though, as Giroud made it 3-3 two minutes later.
Arteta then missed the perfect chance for Arsenal to move up on the table when his penalty kick was saved by Mark Schwarzer.
Elsewhere, Marouane Fellaini and Nikica Jelavic helped Everton recovered from a goal down to beat Sunderland 2-1.
