(Sporting Alert) — Goalkeeper Pepe Reina and experienced defender Jamie Carragher both start for Liverpool in today’s Barclays Premier League clash with Aston Villa at Villa Park.
Also starting in Brendan Rodgers’ side are captain Steven Gerrard, Philippe Coutinho and Stewart Downing, with Lucas Leiva and Jordan Henderson also playing in a side that has four changes from the one that was shocked at Southampton the last time out.
However, striker Daniel Sturridge, despite scoring for England on international duty, was left on the bench.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert made one change to his side from the last time out with Joe Bennett coming in as a replacement in defense for Ciaran Clark, who has been ruled out with a shoulder injury.
Targeted striker Christian Benteke leads the attack, along with Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann with Charles N’Zogbia starting on the bench.
