Tempe, AZ (Nov. 01) — Marta Levinska, the senior opposite from Arizona State, has been named the AVCA/GameChanger Division I Player of the Week, becoming the fifth Sun Devil ever to receive this prestigious honor. She is the first winner of this award for ASU since 2021.
Levinska, who is from Riga, Latvia, and is majoring in Psychology, had an outstanding player card last week. Her standout performances led Arizona State to a weekend sweep, including an upset over then-No. 3 Stanford, and propelled the team from No. 21 to No. 15 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll.

A Week to Remember For Marta Levinska, Arizona State
Levinska’s week was nothing short of spectacular. She averaged 5.83 kills per set and 6.3 points per set while hitting at a .360 clip. Against Cal, she dominated with a match-high 18 kills. But it was her double-double against Stanford—17 kills and 12 digs—that truly caught the nation’s attention.
This performance not only handed Stanford its first conference loss but also marked ASU’s first sweep over the Cardinal since 1993.
A Historic Season So Far For ASU
The Sun Devils are having a season for the record books. They are undefeated at home and have tied their 2013 record for the most three-set wins in a single season with 15. The team’s 21 wins are the most this century at Arizona State and rank sixth-highest in program history.
Levinska has been a driving force behind this success, moving up to ninth in the ASU record book for career kills. She has reached double figures in all but two matches this season, including the last nine in a row.
Levinska’s honor adds to a growing list of accolades for Arizona State, which has seen five players named AVCA National Player of the Week, all in the month of October. The senior joins an elite group that includes Iman Isanovic (2021), Macey Gardner (2015), Amanda Burbridge (2000), and Christine Garner (1995).
