However, speedy winger Gareth Bale is out of the contest with Tom Huddlestone starting instead. The club tweeted earlier that the Wales international would start the game, but manager Andre Villas-Boas made a late change after player’s partner went into labour.

Midfielder Mousa Dembele also misses the game.

Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon, Sandro, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Clint Dempsey all start the game, while Emmanuel Adebayor starts on the bench again.

Meanwhile, with John Terry out for the Chelsea, David Luiz and Gary Cahill start in the heart of defence. Oscar, Eden Hazard and Juan Mata all start as well, but Frank Lampard is only on the bench.
