Barclays Premier League Results and Scores – Dec. 24

LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Chelsea FC scored the biggest result in the Barclays Premier League fixtures on Sunday, Dec. 23.

Two goals from substitute Ramires guided Chelsea to a thumping 8-0 win over Aston Villa – a win that saw midfielder Frank Lampard becoming the club’s leading scorer in the English Premier League.

But on the same day, leaders Manchester United were held 1-1 by Swansea, despite taking an early lead through left-back Patrice Evra.

However, playing like Swansea City’s footballer of the year and certainly the buy of the season so far, Michu tapped home his 13th goal of the season to inspire the draw.

In other latest football results from the English top flight, defending champions Manchester City edged Reading 1-0 on Saturday, with England midfielder Gareth Barry scoring the stoppage time winner.

There were also wins for Liverpool, Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle, Sunderland and West Bromwich.

Mikel Arteta finished off a 60th minute penalty kick and Arsenal scored a 1-0 win over Wigan, Newcastle had a similar result over QPR, as did Sunderland over Southampton.

Steven Gerrard, Stewart Downing and Luis Suarez were all on target as Liverpool FC hammered Fulham 4-0 at Anfield.

West Ham United went down 2-1 to Everton, Norwich undefeated streak ended with a 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich, while Tottenham were held 0-0 at home by Stoke City.
