Barclays Premier League table standings – May 1

LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Manchester City climbed back to the top of the Barclays Premier League table standings on goal difference after beating Manchester United on Monday.

Both teams are on 83 points, but Manchester City have been banging in the goals and have cut the once eight-point lead United held in recent weeks.

Arsenal continue to be on 66 points in third place, while Tottenham are in fourth with 62 points and Newcastle United fifth – also on 62pts.

Tomorrow Newcastle United will face Chelsea, which sit in sixth place on 61 points and this game is expected to be a very exciting one – with both sides still looking to win one of the Champions League slots.
