Barclays Premier League Table Standings – Oct, 28

LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Chelsea saw their four point lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League cut to just one, following a defeat to Manchester United, while Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Liverpool all moved up in the table standings.

Chelsea entered the weekend fixtures four points ahead of the chasers, but loss 3-2 to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and their lead in now down to a one point.

The Blues are on 22 points.

United moved back into second place with 21 points, while defending champions Manchester City, which defeat Swansea City 1-0 on Saturday are in third place, also with 21 points.

The top five teams in the league completes by Tottenham Hotspur, on 17 points and Everton, which played to thrilling 2-2 draw with Liverpool, fifth on 16.

Arsenal are sixth with 15pts, while Fulham, West Ham United and West Bromwich, all have 14pts. Newcastle United complete the top ten and they moved to 13pts after beating West Brom 2-1 on Sunday.

Queens Park Rangers, still searching for their first win, Southampton and Reading, another team with a win yet this campaign, are 20th, 19th and 18th, respectively.

Manchester City, following Chelsea’s defeat, are now the only undefeated team left in the Premier League this season.
