English Premier League Table Standings

Barclays Premier League Table Standings on Oct. 14

LONDON, Sporting Alert – The English Premier League table and points standings ahead of this weekend’s fixtures around the country.

Manchester City head into Week 9 of the Premier League schedule two points clear of second-place Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Citizens retained the top spot in the standings before the international break, after previous leaders Manchester United were hammered by Arsenal.

Man City are on 18 points from eight games, with the Gunners in second on 16 points, the same as the Red Devils.

The surprise package of the season so far, Crystal Palace, are fourth with 15 points and currently holding down a Champions League qualifying spot, although there is still a very long way to go in the season.

Leicester City, another team off to an impressive start, sit fifth in the table standings, also with 15 points.

The top 10 is completed by West Ham United (14pts), Everton (13pts), Southampton (12pts), and Liverpool (12pts).

MOURINHO WANTS PREMIER LEAGUE MOVE

Defending champions Chelsea are still searching for their best form this season, with Jose Mourinho’s men flirting with the boys in the relegation zone.

Mourinho has found it difficult to get the same kind of results he got at this stage during last season, and the Portuguese coach has admitted that the EPL title could very well already be out of reach.

The bottom three teams at the moment are Aston Villa in 18th, Sunderland, 19th and Newcastle United at the base.

Sunderland and Newcastle United remain the only two teams in the league this season without a win and although it is still early in the campaign, the pair look favourites on all platforms to be relegated.

Swansea City and new boys Watford and Norwich City are sitting well in the middle of the Premier League table standings.
