(Sporting Alert) — Bayern Munich thrashed Hamburg 9-2 at Allianz Arena in the biggest win in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.

Striker Claudio Pizarro was the main destroyer on the night after scoring four goals, two in each half, in the comfortable victory.

Arjen Robben netted a brace, while Xherdan Shaqiri, who opened the scoring in the fifth minute and substitute Franck Ribery completed the hammering as Bayern Munich celebrated a commanding win.

Jeffrey Bruma and Heiko Westermann were the goalscorers for Hamburg in the disappointing defeat.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and Manchester United reported target Robert Lewandowski scored the winner for Borussia Dortmund in their 2-1 victory over 10-man Stuttgart. Lukasz Piszczek had opened the scoring for the defending champions, but Alexandru Maxim netted his first Bundesliga goal to pull the scores level prior to Georg Niedermeier’s sending off.

Borussia Dortmund win means Bayern Munich must wait at least one more week before they can celebrate lifting this year’s Bundesliga crown.

Also on Saturday, Liverpool and Chelsea target Andre Schurrle scored twice in Bayer Leverkusen comfortable 4-1 win at Fortuna Dusseldorf to seal third place in the league, while Konstantin Rausch brace was enough to give Hannover a 2-0 win at the struggling Augsburg.

Schalke beat Hoffenheim 3-0 to push them into further relegation troubles, Max Kruse scored both goals in Freiburg’s 2-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach, while Werder Bremen Mainz played to a 1-1 draw.
