KANSAS CITY (Sporting Alert) — The LA Galaxy will be without star playmaker David Beckham for today’s Major League Soccer (MLS) game on the road against the Sporting Kansas City at Livestrong Sporting Park.
The begins at 4 pm ET, and will be Live: Watch Live on: ESPN, ESPNDeportes, ESPN3.com
It has been confirmed that Beckham is still suffering from back pains and Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena has opted to leave England midfielder at home to continue his recovery.
Beckham skipped most of Wednesday’s training session and missed training all together on Thursday due to back spasms.
In the meantime, another influential player and team captain Landon Donovan was doubtful for the game also with an injury but has been named to start.
The American international was forced to skip last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to the Revolution because of a quadriceps injury and but came through a fitness test and is in the starting XI.
Also starting are Juninho, Robbie Keane and Edson Buddle.
Sporting Kansas City remains the only 100-percent team left in MLS and the team is pumped up to play the champions.
Kei Kamara, Bobby Convey and Charles Sapong are amongst the top players starting, while Chance Myers and Chance Myers will be keeping tabs on the likes of Keane and Donovan.
