PARIS (Sporting Alert) — New recruit David Beckham was named amongst the substitutes for Paris St-Germain (PSG) Ligue 1 clash against Marseille at Parc des Princes.
Beckham, a former Manchester United and Real Madrid player, left the LA Galaxy when his contract expired at the end of the MLS season and after taking his team to make his mind up, he decided to join PSG.
Those picked to start tonight in midfield for PSG are Javier Pastore, Marco Verratti, the exciting young talent Lucas Moura and Blaise Matuidi, with Ezequiel Lavezzi and the scoring machine Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the attack.
Former Chelsea defender Alex and Maxwell are in the backline.
Meanwhile, the ever outspoken Joey Barton starts for Marseille and after dismissing the hype about Beckham’s impact on PSG, will look to back up his talks on the pitch.
Andre-Pierre Gignac and Andre Ayew will be the main attacking threats to PSG tonight.
