Benzema returns, Kaka in Real Madrid squad for Benfica clash


MADRID (Sporting Alert) — Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho will welcome back the return of French Striker Karim Benzema from the Euros, while Kaka has also been named in the Portuguese squad for the friendly against Benfica on Friday.

Benzema has recently returned to the Real Madrid squad, following a less than his best performances at Euro 2012 tournament with France.

The forward has now been training well with his teammates and his looking forward to getting a little run during the preseason.

Meanwhile, Brazilian playmaker Kaka, who has been strongly linked with a move away from the Spanish champions was also surprisingly named in the Madrid 24 man squad for its second pre-season outing, which will be the Eusebio Cup against Benfica at the stadium Da Luz.

Mourinho’s travelling squad, which also includes Angel Di Maria and José Callejón has 10 first team senior players and 14 youth members.


Goalkeepers: Adán, Jesús and Pacheco.
Defenders: Varane, Coentrão, Tavares, Nacho, Mateos, Casado, Ríos and Iván.
Midfielders: Kaká, Granero, Lass, Mosquera, Álex, Juanfran, Denis, Lucas, Callejón and Di María.
Forwards: Benzema, Higuaín and Morata.
