Usain Bolt ready for London Olympic Games BIRMINGHAM (Sporting Alert) — Usain Bolt says he’s feeling good and will be ready to defend his 100m and 200m sprint titles at the London Olympic Games this summer.

The Jamaica admits that he had been having some problems with his hamstring, which came as a result of a back problem.

Bolt was beaten twice at the Jamaica Championships in Kingston, by training partner Yohan Blake and his defeats saw many wondering if he would be fit enough to repeat his stellar performances from Beijing 2008, where he set world records in both the short sprints.

However, the triple world record holder revealed that he’s been training very well over the last couple of weeks and is “ready to go” in London.

“I have been training great over the past two-and-a-half weeks so everything is coming together,” said Bolt, who was speaking at a press conference in east London.

“I had slight problems but nothing too serious. I am ready to go.”

He added: “The vibe is good and I am happy.

“I am always ready, for me I keep telling you guys it’s always about the champs, it’s never about one run, never about the trials.”

Bolt holds the 100m and 200m world records at 9.58seconds and 19.19 seconds, times he set at the Berlin World Championships in 2009.

He also holds the Olympic records at 9.69secs and 19.30secs.

In London, he is expected strong challenges from Blake, Asafa Powell, as well as Americans Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin.
