The game will take place at TD Garden and Boston are down 2-0 after dropping the first two games at Madison Square Garden.
Star center Kevin Garnett remains active for the game, despite team staff reporting that he is still feeling pains from an injury he picked up in Game 2, which “appears to be floating between his foot and ankle.”
Pain or not it certainly seems as though Garnett is gearing up for Friday night’s clash.
“I’m looking forward to tomorrow (tonight), being home, back in Beantown. Very much so,” he said. “We haven’t been home since all the current events and everything.
“So, yes, we’re anticipating it being very emotional, very inspiring, and we’re looking forward to coming out and trying to get this Game 3.”
In fact, team lineups are confirming that will start and play alongside Paul Pierce, Jeff Green, Avery Bradley and Brandon Boss.
Meanwhile, Carmelo Anthony, who has been in rich form lately and scored 70 points in the first two games, heads the starters for the New York Knicks, which will be hoping to move within a win of making it into the second round with victory tonight.
Raymond Felton, Pablo Prigioni, Iman Shumpert and Tyson Chandler are also confirmed starters for the Knicks.
J.R. Smith of the Knicks is expecting a tough game at Boston.
“It’s going to be hostile for us,” Smith said. “Boston’s always — if you’re the home team, it’s a great place to play.
“If you’re the away team, it’s a nightmare. We’ve just got to keep our composure, play through everything.”
