MIAMI, FL, Sporting Alert – Here is Brazil’s team roster for the 2016 Copa America tournament in the United States from June 3-26.
Despite the absence of leading forward Neymar, the South American giants still have a very strong and talented squad heading into this year’s tournament.
Among the listed stars included are Barcelona right-back Dani Alves, Chelsea winger Willian, Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho and Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk.
There is also a place in the squad for 19-year-old Gabriel Barbosa, after the Santos striker caught the eyes of Dunga and his coaching staff.
Experienced playmaker Kaka, who plays for MLS outfits Orlando City, is also among the highlighted names in the 23-man squad.
Filipe Luis, Miranda, Luiz Gustavo and Marcelo Grohe, who was recently called up as a replacement goalkeeper for Ederson, are available as well for Dunga.
One of the players looking to have a good tournament is Paris Saint-Germain young centre-back Marquinhos.
The 21-year-old is reportedly hoping to leave the French champions this summer in his search for more first team football, and he knows that a few quality performances at the upcoming Copa America could open the doors for a move to another club.
Besides Neymar, the likes of David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Douglas Costa, Roberto Firmino, Oscar, Lucas Moura, Fernandinho, Dante and Rafinha are also out of the tournament.
Brazil will play in Group B alongside Peru, Haiti and Ecuador.
The multiple World Cup champions, have won four out of five Copa America titles between 1997 and 2007 – making them them the most successful nation.
As expected, Dunga’s side is one of the favourites to lift the trophy this year.
