First goals from Neymar and captain Thiago Silva and second half strikes from Marcelo and substitute Alexandre Pato guided the South Americans to the crushing victory even without several of their more experienced players.

Neymar missed the win over Serbia over the weekend because of commitments with his club Santos, but came back with a bang after scoring the opening goal from the penalty spot in the 12th minute.

Silva headed Brazil 2-0 in front from a Neymar corner kick in the 26th minute, but Herculez Gomez pulled a goal back for USA just before half-time.

Brazil continued to dominate the positions in the second half and the team was rewarded with two goals through Real Madrid wing-back Marcelo and AC Milan forward Pato in the 52nd and 87th minutes.
