BARCELONA (Sporting Alert) – Just a silly fool and the experienced skipper is gone.
John Terry has been sent off for Chelsea, who are also down against Barcelona in their Champions League semi-finals return leg tonight.
Terry was shown a red card after Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir got word from his assistant that the Chelsea skipper had kneed Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez in the back of the leg in an off the ball incident.
The score in the game is currently 2-1 to Barcelona after the first half and despite being down a goal, Chelsea hold the advantage with away goal.
Sergio Busquets had finished from close range to give the holders the lead prior to Terry’s sending off and Andrés Iniesta finished well from a pass from Lionel Messi to make it 2-0.
However, Brazilian Ramires, one minute after collecting a yellow card that would rule him out of the final, should Chelsea go all the way – chipped over the advancing Victor Valdes to give ten-man Chelsea a lifeline.
