BREAKING: Tevez, Richards return, Kompany left out: Man City v Sunderland

MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Carlos Tevez returns to the Manchester City starting line-up for today’s Premier League clash with Sunderland at Etihad Stadium.

Tevez was an unused substitute for Manchester City in the 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in midweek, but manager Roberto Mancini has decided to start the Argentine forward this time.

Also in the starting team is forward Mario Balotelli, who came off the bench to score the equalising goal from the penalty spot for City.

Micah Richards, who returns to the squad and Gareth Barry also start, while midfielder Yaya Toure wears the arm band as regular captain Vincent Kompany is not in their squad.

Meanwhile, Sunderland Martin O’Neill made one change to his side against the defending champions.

Defender Carlos Cuellar, who made a returned to training earlier in the week replaces Titus Bramble in central defence and will play alongside John O’Shea.

Winger Adam Johnson will line-up against his his former club.
