Butler beat Bucknell 68-56, advanced to NCAA tournament 2nd round

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sporting Alert) — Rotnei Clarke scored 16 points and led three others in double digit scoring and Butler beat Bucknell 68-56 in their NCAA March Madness tournament second round game on Thursday.

Andrew Smith collected 14 pints and 16 rebounds in the win for the Bulldogs, which also got 14 points, five rebounds and four assists from forward Roosevelt Jones.

Joe Willman finished with a game and career-high 20 points to lead Bucknell Bison, while Mike Muscala added 10 rebounds and nine points in the defeat.

Bucknell came into the game as the underdogs and found themselves trailing for most of the contest.

However, 19-2 second-half run almost pushed them to an upset win, but Butler came out winners.

Butler moved on to face the winner of Davidson vs Marquette on Saturday.
