Carifta Games 2013 Live Stream, Schedule, Times – Day 2

NASSAU, Bahamas (Sporting Alert) — After the exciting first of competition on Saturday, the 2013 Carifta Games continue on Sunday with another full schedule of events at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Bahamas.

Competition begins at 9:00 AM with the girls’ open Pentathlon and the boys’ open Heptathlon, while the heats of the 800m are all on the schedule for the opening session of Day 2.

The heats of the 200m dashes, the 4x100m preliminaries and the 400m hurdles are also on the list of events.

On Saturday, as expected, Jamaica dominated the medal tallies – 25 medals, including seven gold, eight silver and 10 bronze from the 21 finals contested on the first day.

Jamaica’s World Junior champion Fedrick Dacres was an easy Carifta Games winner in Under-20 boys’ discus throw with 61.27 metres, while Bahamas’ Shaunae Miller made it look easy on her way to dominating the U20 girls’ 400m – winning with a time of 51.63 seconds.

The upset on day one came in the U20 boys’ 100m, where Jamaica’s two-time boys’ U20 champion Jazeel Murphy fell asleep in the blocks and was beaten by Anguilla’s Zharnel Hughes, who won in 10.44 seconds, ahead of Murphy’s 10.48.

Cassey George (4:36.67) and Jevina Straker (4:43.27) of Guyana dominated the U17 and U20 girls’ 1500m races.
