According to SkySports, representatives from both clubs held a meeting in London on Tuesday to finalize the last bit of details, which apparently paved that way for the Argentine international to travel to Italy for a medical.

It is understood that Tevez will be in Italy on Wednesday where he’s expected to discuss personal terms – with a reported three-year deal on the table.

The former Manchester United striker had also been linked to AC Milan, but the club dismissed the reports as just rumours.

Tevez joined Manchester City from the Red Devils on a five-year contract in 2009 and helped them to win a Premier League title two seasons ago.

It is believed that Napoli forward Edinson Cavani is still on the hot-list for Manchester City, although the Uruguay international looks well set to join Real Madrid.
