Carmelo Anthony misses Chicago Bulls with injured finger

CHICAGO (Sporting Alert) — Carmelo Anthony will miss the New York Knicks game against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night because of his injured finger.

The Knicks star forward, who also missed the win over the Miami Heat in the week, decided against playing after feeling pain and discomfort in his lacerated left middle finger.

Anthony hates missing games and he says he’s hoping to feel much better to play Sunday against his former team, the Denver Nuggets at home.

“I think right now it’s just a comfort level of being able to just go out there and dribble and get through the first time getting hit,” Anthony said.

“The first time I get a hard pass, just getting passed that, we’ll see what happens from there.”

He also made the decision to skip the Heat, a game the Knicks won comfortably.

“For me, to sit out that Miami game and this game as well, I really trust my teammates and feel as though that they will take care of business,” Anthony said.

The Chicago Bulls continue to be without star point guard Derrick Rose due to injury.
