Carmelo Anthony returns to Knicks starting team for Nets clash

NEW YORK (Sporting Alert) — Carmelo Anthony returns to the New York Knicks starting lineup for tonight’s NBA game against the Brooklyn Nets at Madison Square Garden.

Anthony had missed the Knicks’ last two games because of a sprained left ankle, but after returning to training and saying he feels much better after training on Wednesday, head coach Mike Woodson has decided to welcome back his star.

The All-Star forward hurt his ankle during last Thursday night’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers after he landed awkwardly when fouled by Dwight Howard.

He will join Raymond Felton, Jason Kidd, Ronnie Brewer and Tyson Chandler in the Knicks’ starting line-up.

Meanwhile, New York will be without forwards Steve Novak, who has taken ill and Rasheed Wallace, who still suffers from a sore left foot for tonight’s game.

The Nets will have Joe Johnson, Brook Lopez and Deron Williams in its starting team.
