(Sporting Alert) — Iker Casillas and Raphael Varane are both in the Real Madrid 21-man squad for Tuesday night’s Champions League clash with Galatasaray at the Ali Sami Yen stadium.
The teams will face-off in the second leg of the Champions League quarter final, with Real Madrid winning the first leg tie 3-0.
Casillas could return in goal, although manager Jose Mourinho has hinted that Diego Lopez would continue between the stick, while Varane will return in defence.
However, despite being named in the squad Portugal international Pepe remains doubtful for the game after suffering a quadricep injury, according Mourinho on Monday.
“He (Pepe) had a muscular problem during the match vs. Levante. It is minimal, but a small problem that makes him doubtful until we decide tomorrow (Tuesday),” Mourinho said.
“If he doesn’t play, Raul Albiol will and the trust that I have in him is the same because we have very good central defenders.
“(Raphael) Varane is playing at the top level and the rest have great international experience. Whoever plays has my trust and the trust of his teammates.”
Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Mesut Ozil are all included as well, but there was place for Brazilian international Kaka.
