LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Blackpool and West Ham United both have top-flight football visions for next season and one of them will be celebrating their Barclays Premier League return come tonight.
The teams will battle tonight at Wembley in the npower Championship Play-off Final to see which side will join Reading and Southampton in the Premier League next term.
Both sides are confident of winning, but West Ham striker Carlton Cole believes the Hammers are ending into the clash in rich form and could be too much for their opponents.
“We are in a rich vein of form at the moment and everyone is looking forward to Wembley,” Cole, who will start tonight up front, told West Ham TV.
“When you play at Wembley it’s a massive occasion and we need to be able to deal with the atmosphere.”
“We have a captain in Kevin Nolan who has been in a Play-Off final [with Bolton Wanderers] and he has been talking us through the preparations, how to cope with pressure and the atmosphere at Wembley because it can be intense.
“That’s what the young lads and those who haven’t played at Wembley before need. That sort of guidance that can relax you on the day.”
