Watford, who needed a win on the final day on Saturday, were beaten 2-1 by Leeds United and finished third in the table standings.

This now means they have to go through the unpredicted playoffs, but manager Gianfranco Zola says his team is ready to take on the task, starting with the Semi Final First Leg at Leicester City.

“We are ready to start the game from the beginning,” Zola told Watford FC official website at

“We will see what they will do. It is the third time we play against them, and they will certainly try and do something different. Although we have played them twice, it’s going to be new.

“We don’t have to change the things that have been so good for us. We’re going to go there and play the game like we did all the others. We’ll try to be positive and we’ll try to score.”

Leicester City, which finished fifth in table standings, are also confident about their chances of gaining promotion.
