Chelsea 8 vs Aston Villa 0: Harsh lesson for youngsters on the road

LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Ramires came off the bench to score a second half brace and Chelsea FC destroyed Aston Villa 8-0 in the Barclays Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Chelsea got off to a flying start when Fernando Torres put them ahead in the third minute with a brilliant header before David Luiz netted a masterclass free-kick in the 29th minute to make it 2-0

Defender Branislav Ivanovic ghosted in like a center forward to head home Chelsea’s third in the 34th minute as Rafa Benitez men took a comfortable half-time lead.

The scoring didn’t stop there though, as Frank Lampard, Ramires, Oscar and Eden Hazard all added to the tally after the interval on an embarrassing night for Paul Lambert and Aston Villa.

The stunning scoreline, as bad as it may sound, is a harsh lesson for an Aston Villa group of youngsters, who were only just coming off a big time Premier League 3-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield last week.

Chelsea, with the win, moved back to third place in the table standings, pushing Arsenal back down to fourth.

Aston Villa remain 16th on 18 points.
