Chelsea has announced the signing of Pedro Neto, marking their tenth acquisition of the summer transfer window. The announcement was made during a pre-season friendly against Inter Milan at Stamford Bridge, with Sky Sports reporting the news on Sunday.
The deal for Neto involves an initial payment of £51.4 million, with an additional £2.6 million in potential add-ons. Last season, Neto impressed at Wolverhampton Wanderers, contributing three goals and 11 assists despite facing two separate hamstring injuries that affected his campaign.
Chelsea’s recruitment strategy, which is set to see club favorite Conor Gallagher join Atletico Madrid for £33 million, has faced criticism from fans.
However, the addition of the Portugal international aims to bolster the team’s options on the wings. Neto joins a lineup that includes Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Raheem Sterling as Chelsea prepares for the upcoming Premier League season.
