LONDON, Sporting Alert – The following is the Chelsea fixtures for 2016/17 English Premier League season, which gets underway in August.
After failing to finish in the top four and missed out on a Champions League place, the Blues will be hoping for a better season this year and it starts with laying a proper foundation.
The London side will also be under the guidance of new manager Antonio Conte, who will take over at the club, following the conclusion of Euro 2016.
Chelsea fixtures begin at home on August 8, when Conte starts life as a Premier League manager against the traveling West Ham United.
The Blues will conclude the 2016-17 season at home as well, when they entertain Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on May 21.
Following the opening game, Chelsea fixtures continue with games against Watford, Burnley and Swansea City, with two of the three contests being on the road.
Conte’s men will then face back-to-back challenges against fellow title rivals Liverpool at home on September 17 and away to Arsenal on September 17.
They will welcome defending champion Leicester City on October 15 before entertaining former manager Jose Mourinho and Manchester United on October 22.
Home clashes against Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, on the other side of a visit to newcomers Middlesbrough, will close out Chelsea fixtures for November, before they start the month of December with a difficult trip to Manchester City.
Conte will be at home for his first Christmas fixtures in the English Premier League – with Bournemouth and Stoke City making trips to Stamford Bridge.
The first game in 2017 for the London giants will come on January 1 against Tottenham Hotspur.
Two of the Blues’ last three games will be at home.
This season, Conte’s focus will mainly be on the Premier League, seeing that his side failed to secure European football for this coming campaign.
