The Chelsea owner, according to the Sunday Telegraph, had representatives met with Atletico Madrid last week to discuss the availability of Falcao, who revealed that he would love to play in the Barclays Premier League.
Ba are all on the Premier League’s side shopping list, the Daily Mail reports.
Higuain and Falcao, it is believed, are highest on the shopping list of Abramovich, who after losing Didier Drogba last summer, is looking for a quick fix.
Real Madrid have left the door open to listen to offers for Higuain, but have already penciled in Falcao as his replacement – limiting the Blues’ chances of landing both players.
Atletico Madrid have valued Falcao at the same price as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and have told Chelsea and Manchester City that the Columbian, who scored five goals in the league on Sunday, will not go for cheap.
This leaves Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez to search for good quality at a better deal and he wants Schurrle and Ba – two strikers he have an easier tasked of sign in the January transfer window as he seeks more goals from his front line.
The Daily Mail says the dethroned Champions League title holders will continue to hold discussions this week in Japan over its transfer targets.
