LONDON (Sporting Alert) — The battle for Champions League spot is in the spotlight tonight with Chelsea hosting Tottenham in the Barclays Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are currently in third place and will secure a place in next year’s Champions League with a victory.
Manager Rafael Benitez, who announced that he will leave at the end of the season, made three changes to the Blues side which beat champions Manchester United at the weekend.
Central defender Gary Cahill, attacking midfielder Eden Hazard and striker Fernando Torres have been recalled to the starting team for tonight’s contest, with Frank Lampard Victor Moses and Demba Ba back on the bench.
John Terry also starts on the bench, while David Luiz also starts in the midfield.
Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas, meanwhile, made three changes from the side that won in the last outing, with Lewis Holtby, Emmanuel Adebayor and Scott Parker brought in.
