With Lionel Messi cementing his place in the team and Pedro having a very good season, Villa has been left battling out with Alexis Sanchez for a slot, a fight he’s failed to win more time than less.
And after being linked with moves to Liverpool and Arsenal, it is now being reported that the striker is also on the wish list of Chelsea, who strongly believe Villa and Fernando Torres could make-up one of the Premier League’s most dominant strike force.

Several Chelsea transfer news are also linking the Blues to Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, but sources are saying that the Columbian international does not want to leave the Spanish side in January.
His main reasoning?
He said he simply wants to help Atletico, who are in second in La Liga heading into the winter break – qualify for the Champions League next season.
So with this in mind, Benitez, desperate to find cover for Torres, singled out Villa as his next choice, and would even welcome an all paid wages loan move until the summer when they will go full strength for their first choice man Falcao.
