LOS ANGELES (Sporting Alert) — Lamar Odom continues to be bothered by injuries, which are halting his preparations for the upcoming season, but his coach also believes that the former LA Lakers forward is overweight.
Odom’s participation in preseason outings has been limited with the LA Clippers so far this term with head coach Vinny Del Negro even holding him out in the preseason win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night at Staples Center.
It has been reported that Odom, who won two NBA championship titles with the Lakers, is still being bothered by a knee problem, but Del Negro revealed that there are other issues affecting his time on the court with his new club.
“He’s got to work through some conditioning things and some health things right now, which he’s doing,” Del Negro was quoted as saying.
“Yeah, I wish he was in a little bit better conditioning, and he wishes he was.
“But he’s just got to continue to work every day and I’m sure he’ll get there eventually.”
