NO. 14 DUKE 91, WAKE FOREST 75

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Grayson Allen scored 24 points and No. 14 Duke pulled away to beat Wake Forest in a college basketball game at Lawrence Joel Coliseum in Winston-salem on Wednesday night.

The Blue Devils (13-2, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) only led by three-points at halftime, but outscored the Demon Deacons 41-28 in the second to ease to victory.

Allen shot 7 of 10 from the field and hit three 3-pointers, while freshman Luke Kennard added 23 points on 7 of 11 shooting and Marshall Plume ended with a career-high 18 points to go along with seven boards and two block shots for Duke, which won four games in a row.

Brandon Ingram had 17 points to improved to eight-straight games scoring in double digits, and he also had five rebounds, four blocks, three assists and three steals for the Blue Devils, who shot 51.7 percent and was opening their college basketball league play with consecutive road wins for the second time under coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Devin Thomas led Wake Forest with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Codi Miller-McIntyre had a season-high 20 points to go with seven rebounds for the Demon Deacons (9-5, 0-2) who dropped two in a row and three of the last four games.

No. 3 MARYLAND 88, RUTGERS 63

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Jake Layman and Diamond Stone played a positive part in helping No. 3 Maryland cruised to an 88-63 rout of Rutgers in college basketball Big Ten action on Wednesday night.

However, sophomore Melo Trimble, who is the leading scorer for Maryland, played just 14 minutes and scored just four points, which all came from the three throw line — after sitting out the second half with tightness in his hamstring.

Layman scored 18 points, four rebounds and had two block shots, Rasheed Sulaimon scored 15 points and five boards and Stone finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the win for the Terrapins (14-1, 3-0 Big Ten) who never trailed and cruised to their eighth straight victory.

Robert Carter chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds for Maryland, which built a 46-18 halftime lead en route winning its third successive game in to start the ACC league play this season.

Corey Sanders led Rutgers (6-10, 0-3) with 16 points, while Omari Grier finished with 13 points and Bishop Daniels added a double-double of 11 points and 10 boards for the Scarlet Knights, who dropped to 2-19 in conference play since joining the Big Ten last season.
