College Football Playoff Top 25 Rankings On Nov. 17

CHICAGO, Sporting Alert – Clemson remains the No. 1 team in the latest College Football Playoff Top 25 Rankings, which was released on Tuesday night.

In fact, the top five stayed the same from last week’s poll.

Alabama returns No. 2, Ohio State sits No. 3, while Notre Dame completes the top four after all these teams won their respective fixtures at the weekend.

Iowa also held down its college football playoff place at No. 5, but Oklahoma State moved into the top six following the defeat to Baylor and a few other teams that were above them last week.

The Clemson Tigers picked up its 10th successive victory on the season with a 37-27 victory over Syracuse on Saturday.

Alabama has continued to impress since losing its only game of the season to Ole Miss.

The Crimson Tide (9-1) have won seven games in a row and many believes they are the team playing the best football at the moment.

As expected, the Buckeyes (10-0) kept its place as the third-ranked side in the college football playoff poll after staying undefeated with a 28-3 win over Illinois.

Meanwhile, the Fighting Irish (9-1) stayed on the selection committee’s good side, despite the two teams just below them have unbeaten records.

Oklahoma State rallied from a 17-point deficit to defeat Iowa State 35-31 to improved to 10-0 and remain perfect this term.

The Cowboys, who are 7-0 in conference play, are the only undefeated team left in the Big 12, while its defense is ranked No. 1 in the Big 12 in defensive TD and tackles for loss, in addition to sitting at No. 2 in the conference in interceptions and sacks, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

Iowa (10-0) defeated Minnesota 40-35 in their battle last Saturday.

In the meantime the Oklahoma Sooners (9-1) which handed Baylor its first loss of the season last Saturday, improved five places to No. 7 this week in the CFP rankings, with Florida, Michigan State and Baylor completing the top 10.

Stanford, which fell four places, is No. 11, with Michigan, Utah, Florida State and LSU rounding out the top 15.

Mississippi State 17, UCLA 19 and Temple 22 fell out the top 25 this week.
