CONCACAF World Cup-Jamaica stun USA in Kingston

KINGSTON (Sporting Alert) — Luton Shelton hammered home a free kick winner into the top left corner of the to goal and Jamaica defeated USA 2-1 in a CONCACAF World Cup qualifying game in Kingston, Friday night.

Tottenham forward Clint Dempsey gave USA the perfect start after he scored a left footed shot from the centre of the box in the opening minute to silenced the Reggae Boyz fans inside the Independence Park National Stadium.

However, Rodolph Austin scored from a free kick in the 22nd minute to even things up, as both side went into the half-times 1-1.

Promising striker Shelton then netted the winner after the break to hand the Jamaicans all three points in the Group A encounter.
