Cristiano Ronaldo brace guides Real Madrid 4 past Sociedad 3

MADRID (Sporting Alert) Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in the second half to guide Real Madrid to a thrilling 4-3 victory over Real Sociedad in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday.

Xavi Prieto finished the game with a hattrick for Sociedad as both teams ended with ten players at Santiago Bernabeu.

Karim Benzema gave the hosts an early lead in just the 2nd minute of play before goalkeeper Antonio Adan, getting the starting place over Iker Casillas again, was ordered off the field.

Adan was sent off in the sixth minute for a bad foul on Carlos Vela, which was rewarded with a penalty kick.

Casillas was unable to stop Prieto spot kick, and the scores were even after nine-minutes.

But Real Madrid took the lead again through Sami Khedira, who cleverly guided home a shot past Claudio Bravo ten minutes before the half-time break.

Real Sociedad continued to push and Prieto got his team’s second equaliser when he fired past Casillas from close range in the 40th.

After the break Ronaldo latched on to an over the top pass and then beat Bravo, who had a very poor outing in the Sociedad goal.

And the Portuguese Ronaldo fire home his team’s fourth and his second from a free kick, prior to Prieto grabbing another goal for Sociedad and completed his hattrick.

Daniel Estrada was sent off in the 74th minute after collecting two yellow cards.
